About the Founder and Director

Shri. Lazar Thurakkal Sebastine was born in Cochin (Kerala, India). His father, late Shri. Sebastine Thurakkal, a well-known violinist himself, laid a very strong foundation in music for Shri. Lazar. After his formal education, Shri. Lazar joined RLV College of Music & Fine Arts, Tripunithura (affiliated to MG University) in 1984 for a 4-year diploma course in music titled Ganabhooshanam. He completed the course in 1988 scoring 1st rank in Kerala State for violin. Then he pursued a 3-year Post Graduate Diploma course (Ganapraveena) at Swathi Thirunal College of Music, Trivandrum (affiliated to Kerala University) and passed with first class in 1991.

Shri. Lazar started his professional life as a performer and teacher. He is a graded artist with All India Radio & Doordarsan. Shri. Lazar has performed around the globe and has accompanied many senior vocal artists. He is an instructor with Singapore Indian Orchestra & Choir at People’s Association and is a tutor in the Centre for the Arts, National University of Singapore. He is also an instructor at Global Indian International School. Besides being an accomplished violinist, he is also adept at playing Keyboard and has strong knowledge in western classical music too.
